Also deserving of a mention is the emerging bicycle district, centered around the community oriented Bike Oven and the Flying Pigeon LA, west coast purveyor of the auspicious Chinese bicycle of the same name.

Thanks for this J Michael. So true. I also see this kind of thing all the time in various articles about my neighborhood, in Echo Park. Highland Park is so much more rich and textured than a vague piece about a few shops.
